What it Takes to Be a Student (and) Musician

Alison Albrecht is a soulful singer-songwriter and performer known for her velvety vocals, evocative lyrics, and lush, earworm melodies. Her songwriting blends the timeless storytelling of Carole King and Sara Bareilles with the modern edge of Maggie Rogers and Lizzy McAlpine.
In 2023, Alison appeared on Season 24 of NBC’s The Voice as a member of the first-ever Team Reba McEntire. She has opened for major acts including the Steve Miller Band, Troye Sivan, Melanie Martinez, and Charlie Puth, and has performed the national anthem for major league baseball. In 2025, she was honored with two Michigan Music Awards: Best Pop Single/Performance and Best Pop Album.
Dedicated to music at an early age, Alison began performing and writing music at nine years old. By eleven, she had performed at the famous Birdland Jazz Club in New York City and the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, TN. After pausing her music career to earn her degree in Biopsychology, Cognition, and Neuroscience at the University of Michigan in 2022, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her artistry full time.
Alison’s next single, "When Things Change", is set to release on September 26, 2025 ahead of her forthcoming EP arriving later this fall.
